SILENT PRAYER OF SCRIPTURE
The Silent Prayer of Scripture links us all to the House of the Lord and allows us all to pray as one. Intimacy with God is the setting of the Silent Prayer of Scripture. This INTIMATE PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP is hated by the enemy. It is precisely this that the enemy labours so hard to “steal, kill and destroy”, and it is precisely this that the Silent Prayer of Scripture’ is all about.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; 1 Peter 2:9
ACTIVITY - Pray the Prayer of Worship & Rest daily for as long as you feel led. Find a place of silent stillness with no intrusive noise. The Lord alone leads you into the House of the Lord which is synonymous with the ‘Secret Place of the Most High’ (Psalm 91), the sheepfold (John 10) and the ‘inner court’ (Ezekiel 43). Here your soul magnifies, and your spirit exalts (Luke 1). You worship the Lord in spirit and Truth (John 4). Sometimes, the Spirit leads you beside the still waters of the Holy Spirit where you are given rest for your soul (Psalm 23).
In a place of silent stillness with no intrusive noise, enter the House of the Lord to simply worship. Your soul magnifies the Lord, your spirit exalts. Rest is a gift of God, which you may move into in this prayer.
You go in and go out of the House of the Lord and find Pasture (John 10).
This prayer is at the heart of SACRED ASSEMBLY.
ACTIVITY - Meditate on God, Scripture, and ‘good things’. Meditation is a great way to imbibe new ways and habits.
Meditation is an exercise of the heart. You ponder things within your heart (Luke 2). Scripture features three topics to ponder on, meditate on God Himself, meditate on Scripture, meditate on things which are true and good.
ACTIVITY - Intercede often for the Sacred Assembly to bear much fruit. Entreaty is a great setting for miracles to happen
Entreaty is where you offer up prayers of supplication or intercession. Supplication is a humble and earnest request made to God for oneself, while intercession is prayer on behalf of others. Ask the Lord how to pray, to put His desires on your heart. Intercede for them and they will happen.
